Also, here are some important things we looked at for our rankings.

eCards Variety

eCards are used for different purposes- it can be for a personal celebrations like birthdays and weddings, an eventful holiday, or just to show gratitude and appreciation to the receiver; therefore an ecard website should offer a variety of eCards for different occasions. Plus, instead of shopping from different sources, it would be highly convenient if you can find all of your eCard need in one nest.

eCards Design

Anyone can create a plain colored cards with texts, but it takes an artistic eye to choose a design that will add depth to the card’s sentiments. It doesn’t matter if an eCard website offers millions of choices if their designs are generic and mediocre. These designs can also showcase your sense of style, even in something as simple as a greeting card.

eCards Customization

One trick in making your cards feel more personalized is to add your own images or logos into the layout. It makes the eCard look unique and well-though of, instead of being a generic greeting that was chosen in a few seconds. Moreover, customizable eCards can help your establish your brand when sending thank you and holiday cards to clients and customers.

Memberships

Some eCard sites offer membership promos where you can enjoy additional card selections and discounts. Aside from these perks, some even free shipping with no minimum order purchase, and limited edition cards. While these membership promos are usually subscription-based, meaning you have a monthly expense on your plate, the benefits are well-worth the cost, and may even give you more value for your money.

  • Jio Greeting
is a superb site where I had purchased digital greeting cards multiple times
those video cards can be used as greetings or as an invitation as well

  • First of all, you can’t include other alternatives that only offer E-CARDS in this “there are better options” list. SOC sends physical greeting cards, NOT e-cards.

Secondly, I have been a faithful user for SOC for MANY years. I am not involved in the MLM aspect of it, I just loved the fact that I could make cards from my own photos. I use that feature about 99% of the time when I’m sending cards.

However this new website design has screwed the pooch. It is actually unusable. The interface is non-intuitive, the editing feature doesn’t work, it crashes frequently and honestly I’m so fed up with it which is how I even found this article, because I was googling “alternatives to Send Out Cards.”

It breaks my heart that it’s no longer a viable option for me because I’ve used it for so many years with such great success. It’s hard to believe that someone could take something that was working and eff it up so completely. Wow. Such a shame.

    • We can, when our top pick Minted also offers physical greeting cards. 🙂

Although they don’t offer the exact editing features you may have enjoyed at Send Out Cards, there are a lot of great pre-made designs to choose from. And you can also submit a custom design request, if you really want to go that route.

  • Sendoutcards charges for shipping there is nothing for free at Sendoutcards. Also, the websites crashes all the time, pages don’t load, cannot view notifications, and access is next to impossible when using the site. Before the website update the site was okay, after the new website was launched the site has had extreme issues. I reached out to them back in late February and Sendoutcards said they would have it fixed by the end of March. Well it is almost August and the website is still having significant issues!! It seems that they have your money and they don’t care to fix anything!! UGGG!!!!

  • It’s funny you compare Sendoutcards in a category of “Ecards” when they are really not an ecard company or website as others are. Yes, you create the cards online but they are not really ecards because they are actually printed, stamped and mailed. So they are physical cards sent to a recipients home…they are cards you can hold in your hand.

    • You’re absolutely right, Kent. However, because their unique business model leans heavily on the online aspect (i.e. designing and sending cards right on the website), we felt it was worth including in the category.

  • So, Send Out Cards has recently made another update to their system, which basically now makes it unusable. The feature I need most is to be able to create, and send multiple cards in a sequence using their “campaign” feature. Do any of the above company’s that you reviewed offer that same muti-card campaign feature?

    • Hi Ronald,

Last I checked, none of the other eCard companies we reviewed offer a similar feature to Send Out Cards’ campaign feature. Some just have scheduling features, like American Greetings and Blue Mountain. And then there’s 123Greetings, which lets you send cards to as many as 100 people at once.
