Also, here are some important things we looked at for our rankings.

Things to Look Out For In An Online Fabric Store

Product Selection: A store is only as good as the products that they carry, and while quality will beat quantity any day, having a vast and diverse selection of items to choose from is still a huge plus because it means people with different needs can easily find what they are looking for. This holds true even for online fabric stores, so we have ranked the websites according to the quality and the quantity of their offerings.

Shipping: Not all websites offer the same shipping methods or policies, which is why we have laid out the basics for you. Most offer regular and expedited options, while some offer free shipping if you reach -- or go over -- a certain price threshold. Meanwhile, if you live outside the US, there are a lot of companies you can choose from that offer international shipping as well.

Returns: One of the most common drawbacks of buying online is that you don't get the chance to personally inspect an item before purchasing it, which is where having a good grasp of a company's Returns Policy comes in handy. Most offer the standard 30-day returns, while others opt to be more generous and offer up to 90 days. Generally, the websites on our list provide more than enough time for you to decide if you want to return your purchase or not.

Customer Support: As anyone who have purchased online would tell you, having various ways to get in touch with a website's customer support is one of the most important aspects of online stores you should be looking out for. Even if you don't encounter any problems with your purchase, it is still good to know that a company is well-equipped to address your concerns. Thankfully, the websites on our top ten generally provide ample customer support.

  • Fabric Depot will close for good 10/21/2018, sadly

  • It would be nice to know your opinions about “Quilted Twins.” There’s like this charity quilting thing in Poland that they sponsor. It would be nice to have an unbiased person review them, please?

    • Hi Steven,

We’ll take a look and see if it fits our list. 🙂

  • Hancock Fabrics Is no longer in business. You should update this and replace it with another company. You should add my favorite online fabric store. I make bags and love buying from MarineVinylFabric. They have a small assortment but they have the best prices.

    • Thanks for the heads up, David! We’ll check that out. 🙂
