When Nick Swinmurn came home empty-handed from a trip to the mall to find a new pair of shoes, he turned to the internet and still found nothing to his liking. This gave him the idea to establish an online store that will allow customers to shop for shoes right from the comfort of their homes. In 1999 he eventually quit his day job and started an online shoe retailer, Zappos.

Zappos first started out to be a premier online retailer of shoes that had the best selection in terms of brands, style, colors, sizes and widths. But much like any other business venture, you are never really sure about what the future might bring. 16 years since its inception, Zappos has grown to become one of the best choices for online shopping and one of our top ten choices.
