Best Beauty & Makeup Subscription Boxes 2017

The world of beauty and makeup is always changing and evolving. That’s why it’s important to always stay ahead of the game, making sure your look isn’t outdated. You may think the solution involves going to the mall all the time and tiring out salesladies by sampling various makeup products, but there’s a better and easier way to experiment with your look: beauty and makeup subscription boxes.

Companies that offer these allow you to get a box sent to you regularly, filled to the brim with trendy and new full-size and sample products for your beauty and makeup needs. With a subscription, you can experiment with several looks without breaking the bank–or even breaking a sweat. These services are constantly updating and upgrading their inventories to make sure that you have the very best and very latest to choose from what you receive every month.

The ladies of Comparakeet were more than willing to take the lead on this one, lending their expert opinions and experiences. Check out our reviews and see which makeup or beauty subscription box is best for you.

How Does It Work?

Beauty and makeup subscription box services typically ask you to fill out a style or taste profile--noting your skin tone, beauty habits, and more helpful facts--so they can pick out box contents to fit your needs and preferences. Items included range from small samples to luxury-size products! Sometimes companies allow you to choose what you want to get from a pool of suggestions; you can keep items you like and return what you don't, skip a month, or maybe even send a month's box to a friend. Sometimes the boxes come fully curated, with no option to customize.

What Makes a Great Beauty & Makeup Subscription Box?

Since subscription boxes are already so personalized--whether or not you're allowed to handpick what you get--there's very little to consider that's not in the realm of the obvious. Of course we want subscription boxes that are easy to customize, easy to pay for, and easy to cancel. Of course we want delivery dates to be consistent. Of course we'd enjoy a diverse number of items in each box. Having an online store where we can buy previous months' boxes, full-size versions of samples, or simply more of a certain box item we like would be nice, too. But in the end, whatever your subscription box holds, it should be a collection of products and samples that interest you.
