What You Get in Each Beauty Box
When you sign up for a Birchbox beauty box subscription, you will be prompted to completely fill out your profile on the site. The information you give will help Birchbox do a better job at customizing your beauty boxes. Some of the questions will have you describe your physical characteristics; such as hair type and skin color. There are also questions about your personality and lifestyle.
The products that Birchbox will send may include makeup, hair care, skin care products, lifestyle accessories, home and food items, beauty tools, fragrances, and grooming items. Most of the time, you will receive sample sizes of these items, but full-size products also appear from time to time. Birchbox beauty boxes are offered in a single subscription tier, with two payment options: $10 month on month, or $110 for one year prepaid. Take note that both plans are under an auto-renew policy; month on month subscriptions can be canceled anytime, and the one year prepaid subscription can be canceled within the first month of renewal. Shipping and handling is free.
On top of the great savings that their subscription services give you, Birchbox also has a Points program that encourages customer loyalty through multiple ways to earn points that can be converted to buy products in their online store. You can earn points through numerous ways: you can refer your friend to the service and benefit from successful signups, gift people subscriptions, review items (although this option is limited now–one of the recent controversial policy changes resulted in this), or you can shop in the online store–where every $1 spent equals 1 point.
10 points is equivalent to $1 that goes back to you as Birchbox store credit. Upon checking a box to apply this as a payment option whenever you purchase something in their store, your order total will be recalculated to reflect the remaining amount. This is great because it allows you to keep earning Birchbox points while saving as you shop!
