Pricing
Namecheap is exactly what it says on the tin, with four reseller hosting plans that go for as low as $16.95 per month and top off at an almost ridiculously low $46.95 per month. With every plan, you can choose to base your operations at the company’s US or UK datacenter, though bear in mind that UK-based hosting costs slightly more than its US counterpart.
Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll get with each plan:
Features | Reseller 1 | Reseller 2 | Reseller 3 | Reseller 4 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Starting Price | $16.95 | $26.95 | $36.95 | $46.95 |

Features
All of Namecheap’s plans let you host an unlimited number of websites, email accounts and mailing lists, and MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. You’ll also get the industry-standard WHM/cPanel control panel software for free, so you can craft custom hosting packages, as well as create and administer separate cPanel accounts for your clients. All but the Reseller 1 plan don’t put a cap on those cPanel accounts, either. Coupled with the ability to use your own nameservers, you get free rein to grow your business’ brand without Namecheap’s presence getting in the way.
Unfortunately, you don’t get premium client billing software with which to manage your growing market. Namecheap offers some free hosting billing scripts, but if you’d like to use WHMCS, you’ll have to pay $8 a month for a branded license, or $11 a month ($3 a month for Reseller 3 and 4 plans) for a non-branded one.
You’ll also be getting access to numerous scripts, ranging from portals/CMS to e-commerce, site builders, and beyond. Thanks to the included Softaculous installation platform, you and your clients won’t need more than a few clicks to get any of these scripts up and running on your domains. Namecheap’s servers also support languages such as Perl, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, and PHP, so you and your clients can also deploy your own custom scripts.
Namecheap also gives you all the tools you need to monitor server status, resource usage, and various site statistics, so you’ll always be aware of how every aspect of your business is running at any given moment. Features like hotlink protection, IP denial managers, leech protection, and automatic CodeGuard backup solutions also ensure greater data and network protection for you and your clients alike. Namecheap also offers you instant setup and transfer assistance free of charge, so whether you’re starting fresh or migrating an established business, you’ll find all the support you need.
Unfortunately, for all of Namecheap’s freebies, it doesn’t quite cover all of the usual bases. Features such as dedicated IP addresses, for example, cost $24 a year here despite being included for free in some competitors’ plans.
Customer Support and Guarantees
Namecheap supplies 24/7 support through livechat or email-based support tickets; unlike most providers, you don’t have alternative channels like phone or Skype for more urgent or more complex inquiries. You’ll also have access to an extensive knowledgebase, plus many company blog articles tackling more common issues.
You’re guaranteed 99.9% uptime whichever plan you pick. Namecheap also offers a money-back guarantee, though unlike most providers, they offer a relatively short 14-day period before you lose the right to claim a full, no-questions-asked refund.
What's the Verdict on Namecheap?
Namecheap Reseller Hosting Review 2020 – Conclusion
Namecheap fulfills its name’s promise, offering you a selection of reseller hosting plans that can often cost much less than many of its competitors. Generous bandwidth allocations and some great bundled software inject good value into all of Namecheap’s plans, though some discreet limitations in its lowest-tier offering coupled with separate fees for some key add-ons might have you paying more than you’d initially expect. Still, with comprehensive plans at various price points, Namecheap is a good option, especially for small and medium enterprises that want comparable reseller hosting quality at a much more convenient price.
