Registration and Ease of Use
Oranum’s registration takes literally a few seconds to complete and all they ask for is a user name, password, email and a promo code (if you have one). Obviously you’ll have to provide credit card details and other information later but at least this gives you a chance to check out the website and their psychic advisors to see if this is a right fit for you. And new customers get a bonus $9.99 in credits to apply to future readings.
Their website is easy to navigate with photos of the available advisors prominently displayed in the center. Brilliant marketing move, in my opinion. We’d all like to see the person who will be our trusted guru and confidante in the flesh. So even before you register, you can click on the advisor and he/she will be sitting there waiting for the session to begin.

Warning to the newbies to the wonderful world of webcam – if you’re not “ready” for your close-up (meaning you need to change out of your pajamas, brush your hair or put on some lipstick) this may either be a pleasant surprise or shock. Don’t worry, they can’t see you if you did not register and pay for credits.
Scroll down to your heart’s content to see the roster of advisors and read bios, areas of specialty, languages spoken, ratings, and availability. On each psychic’s page, there is a calendar which advertises that you can schedule a session in advance. However, after checking out more than 10 psychics’ page, they had no available dates nor times for the next 60 days, even if they were immediately available for a webcam session. I’m not sure if this is a glitch, a discontinued feature or one has to sign up for the psychic’s Fan Club and be a Premium subscriber to access this.
Interesting factoid alert! Oranum had their 15 minutes of fame as they were featured in Christina Aguilera’s “Your Body” music video in 2012. This was a brilliant partnership deal that helped propel this psychic network into pop culture! 150 million YouTube views of this video introduced live psychic readings via webcam to the masses.
Psychic Screening Process
After searching Oranum’s website, I couldn’t find anything that detailed their process of vetting potential psychics – or “broadcasters” as they are referred to. Nothing in their Psychic Wanted section at the bottom of the web page indicates what the criteria is. Nor did I see anything in the lengthy Psychic Services Agreement which spells out the relationship between Oranum and their “broadcasters.”
Communication Channels
Live video-streaming via webcam – here is where Oranum stands out among the multitude of online psychic networks! Utillizing DoclerCam, their proprietary technology enables psychics with a webcam or camcorder set up in their room or studio to broadcast a live video feed through the internet. Visitors and actual users to Oranum just need to have Adobe Flash plug-in installed on their browsers to view the camera feeds and a webcam to interact with their advisor.
Additional options are live chat as well as a download on iTunes only for iPhone and iPad.

Pricing and Special Offers
Pricing information is not readily accessible on Oranum’s home page since each psychic sets their own pricing structure. There is free content where a member can just preview a live video and paid content where there is actual interaction with the psychic. In a nutshell, each member purchases credits to be used for private readings. To access a psychic’s Premium Content, you need to use these credits to subscribe to their Fan Club. The cost per minute for a private reading varies between 0.49 credits/minute to 9.99 credits/minute. Meanwhile, their subscription rates for Premium Content are set by the psychics- the range are as follows:

Addtionally, Oranum offers 2 other features – Quickbuy and Smartbuy. Quickbuy allows members to immediately and manually top-up their credit balance during the session. To enjoy a session without interruption, Smartbuy enables the system to top-up a credit balance when it falls below 7 credits. The default Smartbuy package is $27.99 but you have the option to change this amount.

Bragging rights go to Oranum for their unique live video streaming via webcam! This is truly an innovative feature which adds a personal touch to the psychic experience.
The website’s home page draws immediate attention to the list of psychics ready for a live reading, and highlights their psychic reading offerings, languages spoken and ratings. And you can also search by topic such as tarot reading, astrology reading, spiritual reading and more.
A drawback to Oranum is the lack of transparency when it comes to pricing. Only after you register, login and click “buy credit” can you see what the psychic charges. This has the potential to be awkward since you are already face-to-face with the advisor and then have to decide if you want to pay for the reading!
Though the live webcam reading is attractive, some folks might be cautious or shy about a face-to-face encounter. They feel more comfortable doing a telephone session where they can remain fairly anonymous. In this situation, they can turn off their webcam and just speak to the psychic or text chat live. Oranum doesn’t offer phone readings and 100% supports this new streaming technology.
Overall, Oranum is a good fit for people wanting to connect with the psychic and spiritual community using the most up-to-date digital technology.
