What Makes a Great Gaming Website Builder?

We searched high and low for the best guild and gaming website builders available on the internet, and to determine the best of the best, we checked for several factors on the way. These criteria make these top-ranking builders stand out from the rest, so go ahead and read up to learn more!

Ease of Use - No Code Needed!

no code - game website builder

Since your time is better spent managing your gaming servers and playing to test them out, a website builder with an easy-as-pie editor is certainly a plus. Instead of spending a lot of time learning how to build the website, you can go straight to the task and finish in under an hour. You will find drag and drop editors with a WYSIWYG format the most newbie-friendly, and luckily, most of those in the top 10 employ this kind.

Website builders Pricing - Free and Paid Plans

Building a gaming website for free is totally possible. All of the websites we reviewed offer free basic plans or free trials with an expiration date. The freebies included in the no-frills plans often contain basic templates, design options, hosting for a moderate amount of viewers, etc.

Paid premium plans are not that expensive - most under $10 a month. They can include extras like removal of ads, bigger storage capabilities (MB versus GB), automatic backup, eCommerce (open a store to sell skins!), etc.

Get your feet wet with a free basic plan or a free trial. Trust me, you’ll end up paying for a low-cost monthly plan because you’re gonna want the bragging rights to the most awesome gaming website!

Theme Selection - Clan, Guild, Fansite and More

Theme Selection - Clan

Having the main game as your website's theme can help visitors get comfortable and familiar with your website. There are gaming website builders that specialize in clans and guilds. Others offer templates that you can use as-is or tweak to your niche site, like a dedicated esports betting website. Of course, you want to choose a builder that has a rich template gallery, so your website can have a unique look that is unlike many others.

Community Interaction

The sense of community in gaming is pretty strong, which you can use as an advantage in your website. You can set up a forum, blog, or chat channels where players can interact with you and one another. In some website builders, these are in the form of apps and plugins that you can add without any extra charges, saving you the added expense of signing up to another service just to offer these to your visitors.

Storage Allocation for building your game

Lastly, since you will be probably be uploading maps, sharing gameplay videos, and uploading other game-related files, a sizable storage allocation for your website is a necessity. Some website builders throw in this allowance for no charge at all, although you really can't expect that big of space when it comes at no cost.

You can find reasonably priced paid plans that include storage in their package, so go ahead, check out reviews to see the allotment from each brand.

  • Very good information. Lucky me I found your website by accident (stumbleupon). I have saved it for later!

  • After Enjin free trial period ends (14 days) you even lose the ability to put 15 HTML snipets, supposedly “Due to Google Adsense Policy, HTML & Shoutbox modules are disabled on the Free Plan”. So you have to pay enjin to satisfy Google?!?!?! When you start it is free, but they run you at the premium features, then when 14 days have passed you have to understand which features you had used that were not free, undo that work to be able to stay free, in the mean time your site is broken, and when it is all done, even then you cannot display HTML because of the error message above. Totally irresponsible to recommend Enjin in 2017, I would remove it if I were you so as to preserve your own reputation of actually knowing about what you are recommending!

    • Enjin’s website specifically tells you that the 14-day free trial is for the Advanced Plan, which gives you access to all modules – among a host of other features not found in their Free Plan. All of this is clearly outlined in their FAQs and Plans & Pricing pages. Enjin isn’t perfect – nothing is – but it’s a pretty great service.
